KJ's 7&8 Month post

Lately It's so hard to sit down and actually type what been going on with KJ, we've been to busy having fun. KJ will be 9 months in a week or so and I am still writing his 7 and 8 month update.  The family went on a 2 week vacation( I plan on doing a separate post about our Miami vacation) and I came back worse, a post was the last thing on my mind my brain was on chill mode, Im finally getting back into reality.  Enough about me back to KJ.

He is such a big boy now, I look at him and can't believe  how time has flown.  Its bittersweet I want to see him grow of course but I want him to stay my little baby. His 7 months has been fun and tiring he is so busy and never still.  Now he learned to crawl and too hold on to things and walk around I cant take my eyes of him for minute.

He's growing very well he weighs 20lbs and he loves food, table food! Baby food! He doesn't care jus give him food, I've posted a video of him tearing up some corn on the cob he is too funny.  KJ has 5 teeth 2 on top and 3 on the bottom, and he knows how to use them for food and biting noses lol.  Even though he's a busy body now he still my peaceful little guy, so sweet and gentle... when he wants to be but most of the time he's a hair pulling, face slapping screaming and shouting kind of guy. I blame daddy of course because they always play fighting and KJ is always climbing and trying to take down his dad.

Always trying to crawl over the couch.

8 months has been the most fun he's done so much in a month he's standing by himself,  Im trying to get him to walk but he doesn't only when someone is holding his hand or he has support from furniture, and peoples legs.  Watching him grow is so awesome, I am blessed to  watch all my children grow, it is truly God's gift to me.

He's jibber jabbering now, I lot of mum mum and baa baa and I am sure he says yea and hey but its debatable.  I'm working on him saying mama first but we will have to wait and see what who he says first mama? or dada?  he loves mimicking the sounds I make thats how we communicate. His favorite song right now is "If your happy and you know it" he starts clapping to the song.  I  just can't believe in about 3 months my baby boy will be a year! Where is the time going? Im working on planning his birthday party. I cant wait!!

December, January and February are the busiest for kevin and I, Our anniversary is Dec 3, KJ bday is the 15th, christmas is the 25th, Kairi's b-day is Jan 10th, Kaliyah's b-day is feb 2nd we definitely didn't think all of this through somethings could've of been spaced out.  After Leah's birthday my pockets will only have lint in them but my family is all worth it.

Since KJ started eating baby food I've been battling if I should make his food or buy it made from the store like most people do.  Right now he's eating gerber baby food.  With Leah I was on the whole make it from scratch and honestly I hated it the fruits changed into weird colors and it didn't preserve well. Listening to people who felt making it was better then buying it made.

This time around I decided to buy the baby foods but every now and then I feel guilty or maybe  get judged because I dont make his food.  I tried googling about both homemade vs store bought and I was even more confused.  His veggies I can make from scratch but the fruits I don't like the way it comes out.

I grew up on gerber baby food and I am just fine and I am sure KJ will be just fine too.  There are children in the world who aren't fortunate enough to have either one, So I am thankful for the options I have and for those who can make their babies food power to them. for me and mines we will alternate between the two. Oh how I love my sweet boy!!

I have about 2 weeks before I have to write KJ's 9 months post smh.  I am really trying to keep this up i want to document all his monthly achievements for his first year but its getting harder and harder but I will complete this.... Until next time, God bless!

Happy Summer! KJ is 6 months old

Summer is finally here and boy is it HOT!  I remember when I was pregnant and trying to imagine how KJ would be at 6 months, what things he'd be doing? How would he look? Imagining the boyish summer outfits and his cute hats.  I don't have to wonder anymore,  KJ is doing a lot he is sitting, pulling himself up to stand, attempting to crawl (he still has some work to do with crawling) and other little things he is doing.

We starting feeding cereal by spoon that has been interesting and messy.  He likes blowing raspberries thats his thing but for some reason when its time to eat thats when he does it the most, a baby spoon of cereal goes in and cereal mixed with saliva comes back out on my clothes, face, and my glasses!  It never fails.  When feeding time is over cleaning time begins, I have to scrub the couch, my glasses, his face, my face! We both pretty much need a bath when spoon feeding is done.

Life with KJ is blissful, He is still such a peaceful, happy, loving baby. Always smiling just a joy to have.  His sisters adore him and he adore them, every one who meets him adore him.  He's not a hands baby He likes to be free and do his own thing.  When Im holding him he starts scooting to get down, when he starts doing that we know what time it is.  Its time for him to go on the ground and explore.

He also loves to stand at first he was wobbly, then he just got stronger and stronger.  Now he pulls himself up and stands of course holding on but Its scary for me because I don't think he knows he cant walk.  He tries to let go of whatever he's holding or he just starts stepping off.  I know one of these days he will be able to do it but Im not sure what his rush is lol.  He's probably eager to run and play his sisters. I just have to always keep a close eye on him, I don't need him falling or getting hurt.  Kevin is no help all he says is HOORAH!!  "Hoorah" whatever! I don't want my baby falling but Daddy isn't worried only me....  :-(

Our Family went to Six Flags Great Escape Lodge Resort, We had a blast even KJ Had fun he loved the water! I originally wasn't gonna put him in the water, I remember when we tried with Leah around that age she was not a happy camper in the water. She cried while in the water and every time we tried to get her close to the water,  I guess because the water was cold.  Not KJ though,  He loved the water he played and splashed around, and when he was done he took his nap.

KJ sometimes reminds me of the Sour Patch Kids Commercial, you know in the commercials the sour patch candy does something mean and the owner is mad then the sour patch does something sweet and the owner gets all mushy yea! KJ!  He likes to grab our face wherever he grab he just pulls it close to his face then he gives the sweetest kisses you can think of, gets me every time.  I enjoy watching him grow and getting to know his little personality, watching him explore the world and new things it's just a breath of fresh air.

June was a great summer start, Kairi had her  first Piano recital.  I was so proud of her for going against her fear and playing in front of strangers, I cant wait until her next recital.  I love the picture of kevin giving Kairi the bouquet of flowers I would've missed that picture if it wasn't for my friends aunt. Thankfully she saw it and I was able to capture it.  Leah already says she wants to play the guitar, once she is old enough guitar it is and hopefully KJ will want to play an instrument the drums preferably... or the Piano... or whatever instrument he chooses.  Daddy wants him to play football which is... ok I guess, He can do more than one thing right?

Kairi's Music Teacher is great, Jennifer was made to be a Musician and a Teacher.  Anyone who can play more than one instrument AND teach others how to play especially children is gifted.  For more details about pricing and location contact me and I can get you the information.

These are two video's of KJ and Leah rolling the ball around and the other video is KJ splashing around in the kiddie pool.

Adventure Trek: Quest of The Guardians @ Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park.

My Blogger Friend Nichol Perez from Five Little Words blog needed coverage for the Grand opening of Adventure Trek: Quest Of The Guardians at Six Flags Great Escape & Indoor Water Park I did not hesitate on the opportunity. My family and I had the best time!

Disclosure: I was invited to this event as media,  I received a goody bag and complimentary overnight stay.  No other compensation was received, all personal views are 100% my own.
We checked in the night before the grand opening and received our goodies bags inside the bags were our magic wands for the  grand opening.   The Adventure Trek Wand is the key to becoming a Fun Factions Guardian, Once your wand is registered in your name your wand will remember each task you've completed and where you left off. With your wand you wave and point at objects to accomplish your game in Adventure Trek.

MY DAUGHTERS ADVENTURE WANDS

These two wands were my favorite out of the many cool ones that can be bought at The Adventure Trek Store.

The morning of the grand opening we were up early excited and  ready to go.  We listened to the creators talk about the game, the adventures, task and  how it works.  Once the ribbon was cut we set off to our adventure.  Adventure Trek: Quest Of The Guardians is an interactive game for families to come together and help three teens Double Dare Dexter, Hurricane Hannah, and Billy Brains save Six Flags Great Escape Resort from the evil humdrums and  sludge monster trying to take away the fun.

This game is great for children of all ages, My 3 year old leah was having a ball with her wand, she was so into the game, she waved and pointed her wand at every game station, it didn't matter if it was her station or not.  Kairi my 10 year, Kevin and I  are competitive, we took this game seriously we were on a mission and we had to save Six Flags Great Escape Resort so everyone could come and enjoy this awesome adventure.

On the 2nd,3rd and 4th floor are where the treasure, task and missions are.  Everyone was up and down looking for their treasure, gems or completing missions.  There are three Adventures Funzerker, Splashateer, Imaginanut each adventure has 5 missions to complete, The missions were fun, some were challenging and made us have to put on our thinking caps.  For each mission completed you receive a Fun Faction Badge and move on to the next mission.

We had so much fun during our Adventure Trek Experience it's a  must do when Going to Six Flags Great Escape & Indoor Water Park. Going to Six Flags Great Escape Resort is a family vacation must, I cant wait to go back sometime this summer! Evenflo Introducing The New Pro-Comfort Protection Car Seats.

I personally love Evenflo's products so when I had the opportunity to hear about there New Improved features I couldn't wait. Evenflo came up with some great new idea's to help make Parents and children's ride more comfortable and safe, so parents can focus on the road.

NOTE: I was invited to this event as Media, I received a Manicure &pedicure.  All personal views are 100% my own.

The New Pro-Comfort  Protection Series Line of Car Seats includes The symphony,Triumph and Amp LX High Back Booster Seat these car seats are made with a Gel-Matrix cushion that equalizes pressure points and improve blood flow.  We all have had that moment while driving and the baby is screaming his/her head of because there uncomfortable.  The Gel-Matrix prevents the buildup of pressure points which create discomfort over time,  The Gel-Matrix Provides baby with long term and short term comfort making short trip and long road trips more enjoyable.

This is a great feature for babies and will help parents from having to look back while driving to try and calm baby,  preventing accidents or having to pull over to calm baby delaying the trip.  A few simple changes to help make parent's life a little simpler.  The Gel-Matrix is one of the many brilliant features Evenflo Car Seats have to offer, read more about the other series of car seats on a previous post I did, read about it here Evenflo Symphony DLX All-in-one Car Seat Review

Installing a car seat is always the biggest headache, In fact studies show that 80% of car seats are put in incorrectly.  Most new cars have the hidden low anchors that make attaching a car seat easier and safe. Getting to those hidden Low anchor's aren't always easy.  Evenflo's new SureSafe System reduces incorrect installation by 50%.  The latch guides attach to the hidden lower anchors of the vehicle where it can stay for easy use.  Simply attach the quick connectors located on the seat safely and easy. The picture above gives demonstration of how the Latch Guides work.

Proper installation is the most vital part to a child's car seat, which is why the SureSafe System brings you:

  • Latch guides, which act like a tunnel making it a clinch to find your vehicles lower anchors.
  • Quick Connector LATCH to reduce misuse by 50%
  • Buckle pockets for added innovation and safety

SureSafe System did a test against their competitor passing the 1 inch movement test, ensuring that the seat latches do not move more than 1 inch in either direction when tugged.

The new SureSystem will be available exclusively at Walmart beginning in August.  The Systems will be featured on the award-winning Evenflo Symphony and Triumph models in addition to the Sure Ride  and Embrace Select models.  Now last but definitely not least my most favorite feature on Evenflo's car seats the buckle pockets,  We all have experienced putting our babies into the car seat on a hot summer day and the buckles are hot. Some cases the buckles are so children.  Evenflo's buckle pockets tuck the buckle tongues away, making it safe and easier to get a child in and out of the car seat and protecting kids skin from hot buckle burns.

The Evenflo Symphony LX with SureSafe All-In-One Car Seat cost $199.97, Evenflo Triumph LX with SureSafe Convertible Car Seat cost $149.97, Evenflo SureRide DLX with SureSafe COnvertible Car Seat cost $99.97, Evenflo Embrace Select with SureSafe Infant Car Seat cost $99.97.  All These car seats are sold at Walmart and  walmart.com

To celebrate the debut of two new additions to their line, BOB strollers hosted a fun event at Sports Club/LA, where attendees had a first look at the new Revolution PRO and Revolution FLEX strollers.

Note: I was invited as media to this event and received a stroller for review purposes. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

During the event, we enjoyed activities including stroller racing as well as learning how to get in a workout with the stroller. These activities allowed me to get a feel for how the stroller moves and feels doing everyday activities.

These stroller are great for parents who are active and would enjoy walking or jogging around the park. These BOB's high quality strollers are durable and made for all terrain experiences.

At the event I also learned that BOB's strollers is now partnered with Britax, another well known company for childcare products. BOB Stroller Revolution PRO and the Revolution FLEX are available as both Single and Duallie (two seats) strollers. They include advanced features and a variety of color options.

After the event, I received my very own BOB Revolution PRO to take home an review. One of the features that impressed me while using was the new handle bar. It adjusts to nine different positions to fit the height of any parent. My husband and I can appreciate this feature since I am 5'1 and he is 6'1. Adjustable handles makes it easy for him to use the BOB's stroller and feel comfortable.

Both models are designed with many of the popular Revolution SE features, including:
  • Swiveling front wheel, which offers superior maneuverability and locks forward for increased jogging stability
  • High-impact polymer composite wheels with pneumatic tires and tubes to take on tough terrain
  • Easy, two-step folding, lightweight frame for convenient transport and storage

BOB's The Revolution Pro and Flex Stroller review.

Note: I was Invited as media to this event and received a Revolution Pro Stroller to review.  No other Compensation was received, all personal views are 100% my own.

KJ and I attended a Bob's Stroller Event for the release of there upgraded version of the Revolution SE, The Revolution Flex and Revolution Pro.  These strollers are for all outdoor journeys and very durable. The Revolution Flex and Pro come in single and duallie (two seats).

These stroller are a must have for all parents who are active and loves jogging,  BOB's high quality strollers are durable and great for active families. This is great for me right now,  I cant make it to the gym but I can go for a morning jogs with my little guy strapped in safely.  These strollers are made for  all terrain sport experiences from a  family walk in the park to a jog around the park.

It is extremely easy to use the Revolution Pro, easy to handle and a smooth ride for baby. BOB's strollers are now partners with Britax another well known company for  childcare products. BOB strollers are suitable for babies 8 weeks and older, you can use it from birth with the BOB infant car seat adapter and  BOB be safe car seat.

The Revolution Flex and The Revolution Pro include advanced features and a variety of fresh color options, The only difference between the Flex and Pro is The pro has a new handle bar that adjust to nine different positions perfect fit for any parents height.  My husband and I can appreciate this feature since I am 5'1 and he is 6'1 this makes it easy for him to use the BOB's stroller and feel comfortable.

The Pro Stroller is also now equipped with hand activated rear drum brakes for extra control on hills and deep inclines, The strollers can get a little heavy especially with the baby in them so in case it gets to heavy and you can't support the weight you can squeeze the hand activated drum brake to stop the stroller and gain better control.  These Pro strollers come in two new colors wilderness green and black & orange with all silver
frames.

The Flex Stroller also comes with the adjustable Hand bar to adjust to every parents height and the color options are now black with black frame, orange with silver frame, and Lagoon (aqua blue)with silver frame.  Both Strollers still have many of the great popular features the Revolution SE has,  To name a few the swiveling front wheel which offers great maneuverability and locks forward for a more increased and stabilized run, state of the art adjustable suspension system for an amazing ride. The suspension system is awesome I think that is my favorite thing about these strollers, The suspension system has another level once your baby reaches the weight limit you hit a switch and the stroller adjusts the suspension to babies new weight, How cool is that?!

Shalom Sesame Event

I attended a Shalom Sesame event, Grover was there dressed in his best disco outfit and afro, He help introduce the shalom Sesame's new series of 22 two-minute clips.

Note: I was invited as media to this event. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

The clips featured each letter of the Hebrew alphabet. In the video's an animated Grover danced and moved around while teaching the Hebrew alphabets and four Hebrew vocabulary words that start with each Hebrew letter.

Shalom Sesame is a multimedia project for children 2-8 years old, It is designed to engage families in learning about Jewish heritage, celebration and Israel culture.  The video was entertaining and captured the Jewish language. My 5 month old son KJ was glued to the TV watching the clips, he was smiling and he really enjoyed Grover getting down.

It is great to see Sesame Street teach about a different cultures and making it fun learning for children and Adults. Sesame Street  has always focused on cultural learning and I am to see them continue doing so.

I went on the Sesame Shalom website, I learned a few things about the Jewish culture that I didn't know, the reading and pronunciation of there letters, the name of the foods that are cooked and the Hebrew Alphabet has 22 letters.

To learn more visit Shalom Sesame at www.shalomsesame.org
